Albi (translates to "my heart" in Arabic) is a Middle Eastern restaurant in Navy Yard from chef/owner Michael Rafidi. It has received high national attention since it's opening and once we tried it, we knew why.
The space is inviting, lively and the service was the cherry on top of our dining experience (Shout out to Youme!)
We couldn't decide what to order so we ended up getting the 'Sofra' experience.
Sofra means (a low) table where food of different types are placed for families and friends to eat together. In Bahraini culture, sofra is a palm-weaved mat placed on the floor following similar traditions. I honestly thought that was beautiful and made me grow even more fonder of Albi.
Albi earned it's first Michelin star in 2022.
